Default 417 alarm on fanuc 6m-b

    Hi there,
I have a Muratec CENTRUM 1000, and after bringing it(secondhand it is) i had a trouble with the bubble memory and i had to put a SRAM instead. so after loading the NC parameters I get the alarm 417 X SERVO.
CAn you help me to fix this error. certainly thankful if you can even try!!!

This is from the Fanuc handbook for a 16/18/21:

Alarm NO. 417 A parameter has been specified incorrectly. Check the following paramaters:

NO.030 Is the specified motor type correct?
NO.031 Is the specified direction of rotation of the motor correct?
NO.106 Is the denominator of the number of pulses per single revolution of the motor 0?
NO.180 Is the specifed reference counter capacity 0 or a negative value?

I'm not totally sure if the alarms correspond but it sounds like they should.

    Hi Thilina,

You can refer to FANUC maintenance manual :

    1. Check following Parameter,
PRM 2020 : Motor format number
PRM 2022 : Motor Rotation direction
PRM 2023 : Number of pulses of velocity feedback
PRM 2024 : Number of pulses of position feedback
PRM 1023 : Servo axis number
PRM 2084 : Flexible feed gear ratio
PRM 2085 : Flexible feed gear ratio

Confirm the details with diagnosis function of CNC side.

    2. Change the setting of this parameter to 0.
    PRM 2047 : Observer parameter

    3. Perform initial setting of digital servo parameter.
    Refer back to manufacturing parameter.

417 on a 6m control is an LSI (limit switch) on the X axes. is the X axes at the end of its travel?

Chances are its a seized limit switch if the machine has been sat at machine zero in the x axis for any length of time.
Easy way is to wind the x axis away from the limit switch when the machine is powered down, then check the switch to see if it pushes in and out easily.

    Hope this helps.

i work with turret punches we have a c1000
417 servo can be dirty contacts on servo plugs a good contact cleaner sometimes works wonders
also can be a broken wire in encoder

LSI stands for Large Scale Integrated (circuit), an IC chip on the master board. It is not a Limit switch.
    Chech your master board.

What is your machine name? Model? Control number? Is it really a OM control?
