First-Are you able to output the file from the machine? and is it readable when opened in wordpad?

Post the program or attach the file that came out of the machine so I can see the format that it output. Also Try changing your stop bit from 1 to 2 or 2 to 1 within your PC communication software and try again.

Basically take your program. Usually strip all the jiberish if there is anything right after the percent sign in the beginning and before the end percent sign of the program. Usually its only one line. Then try reuploading the file that was output originally without the jiberish to make sure there are all good characters within the program.

The framing error can be caused by a few things. Double check the baudrate. On the Fanuc 10 series controls I never set my rate lager then 4800. Make sure that you use 2 stop bits. Also try different parity…I believe that I always ran mine at “EVEN” parity. It’s been years since I set up that control.

If you start to run into overrun or overflow problems which is very common for the 10&11 series from fanuc then you will probably have to adjust your FIFO buffers on your PC. Go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager, Ports, select the COM port you are using, Properties, Port Settings, Advanced. Set the transmit buffer to the low setting but leave the receive setting alone.

Here is the wiring guide that I used on my 10T.

Shell For 9 pin serial on PC
    -------RJ45---------DB9
    Yellow 3-----------5
    Green 4-----------8
    Red 5-----------2
    Orange 7-----------7
    Blue 8-----------3

Shell For 25 pin serial on CNC
    --------RJ45-------DB25
    Yellow 3-----------7
    Green 4-----------4
    Red 5-----------2
    Orange 7-----------5
    Blue 8-----------3

Framing error is usually specifically the Start and Stop bits.

But it can also occur if you set the wrong number of data bits making the 'word' too short.

Make sure you're set to the correct number of data bits (usually 7 or 8) the correct parity (usually even or None) and the correct number of Stop bits 9usually 1 or 2)

So, if it's 7 databits then I'd say there must be a parity bit too.
If it's 8 databits then there probably is no parity
and on most CNC the number of stop bits doesn't usually cause a framing error.
