Default changing from CNC to other processing, for saving cost and improving efficiency

As is well know, CNC can make kinds of different shape and dimensions products. It also exist many shortages, like high cost, inefficient and so on. So there are many other processing technologies, like casting, injection molding. Each has their own advantages. We are a MIM (metal injection molding) manufacturer, so we just compared CNC with MIM. Metal injection molding is a net-shape process for producing solid metal parts that combines the design freedom of plastic injection molding with material properties near that of wrought metal. It's advantages when comparing to CNC as bellows;1) High production effiency: Because MIM components are made by mould, so the production can be big and effiency.2) Low cost: When effiency proved, cost will be lower.3) Precise dimension: CNC's most significant advantage is it can make really precise dimensions. In this aspect, MIM may can't do such precision, but it can be +/-0.03mm.Below is a comparing form of different processing;Parameter MIM CONVENTIONAL PM MACHINING INVESTMENT CASTINGDensity 98% 88% 100% 98%Tensile Strength High Low High HighElongation High Low High HighHardness High Low High HighComplexity High Low High MediumSurface Finish High Medium High MediumProduction Volumes High High Low MediumRange of Materials High High High Medium-HighCost Medium Low High MediumSo if you want improve production and save cost when product quality is the same, you can consider metal injection molding (MIM). Well if you are actually looking for a new machine I would rather buy an used machine and save some money, as if you buy it used and look for a guarantee it shouldn't be a problem at all. I found out this website very nice, they have got some nice hand tools, http://trademachines.com and there exist on the market many where you can have a nice option instead of going to a huge market and buy a new one.

Buying your materials in the exact size you need can cut out a lot of these problems. At buymetal.com buy only exactly what you need and eliminate the time and wastefulness of cutting materials on your own.
