Default Automating a Pause / Resume for NC Program

Is it possible to automate a Pause and Resume?
I would think inserting an M01 would Pause the program, but how to automate the Resume?
Perhaps the CNC Machine tools PLC could initiate the command???

    Thanks in Advance,

I have a custom made 5 axis HD equipped mill that I will document the production of sculpted wooden proprietary mission critical elements. It uses a proprietary controller. I will insert M01's to pause the NC program while a still camera trolleys to part boundary to capture intricate detail. I have a sensor to determine the level of atmospheric conditions. When conditions permit the still camera will move into position. Upon return of the camera to home position the program will resume. There is no timing or dwell. This must be accomplished unattended without any light sources. I currently use a simple robotic arm to resume the program. HTH and thanks for your input.

your sensor output should be able to switch a small relay,
then wire the N/O part of the relay to duplicate the function of the "start" pushbutton.
the relay switching power circuit is separate from the controller I/O, to avoid confliction with the controlers I/o power circuit.
