    Default Newbie with VQC 20/50

Hi all, im totally new to cnc and have been lurking for a while and decided its time to get involved even though it will probably only be asking questions for quite a while lol. I have just bought a VQC 20/50 which i am currently learning slowly. I just have a couple of questions for someone in the know. First off i sometimes get error codes saying that tool magazine is off or spindle is off even though there are no physical problems. It is intermitent and if it was only the magazine or only the spindle i would suspect the switch on whichever it was but being both i tend to lean towards an electrical problem further down the line.
Next question is what would i need to fit a 4th axis to the machine besides the controller and can anyone help with part no's to suit.
Thanks in advance for any comment either positive or negative

    Regards from Oz, Bob

Ok I have sorted some issues so now I have another question. Does anybody know what memory module I would need to expand the memory on this machine. It is a VQC20/50b 1986.

    Bob,

inside the ATC there's 2 photo eyes. these sometimes get dirty/slimly depending on your coolant. Try wiping them off and the refectors they shine on. And or one may not be aligned correctly. These will throw the error codes for the ATC.
