Default Fanuc OTT C Axis Disable - URGENT HELP PLEASE

    Hi there,
I have a Takang TNC 200 DST 1992 with Fanuc OTT control. The C axis will not reference. I have replaced the proxy switch, but this did not solve theprpoblem. It has nbeen an intermittednt fault that has gotten worse and now will not reference ata all. Without it referencing I am unable to start the spindle or execute a program. I do not actually need the c axis for an urgent job I have on, so does anyone out there know how to disable the C axis? Or does anyone know how to fix the referencing problem?
Thanks so much for any help
    Bry

A also would like to know the soultion.
I was not knowing that, without C-axis referencing, even M03/M04 for the main spindle does not work.

C-axis reference can be anywhere in most cases. So, cann't you manually trigger the C-axis prox switch?

    On 0i there is a parameter 1010 : Number of CNC-controlled axes.
I would try a value of 2 for ignoring C-axis (followed by power cycle), but I am not sure whether it would work.

There is a number or things that can be causing this problem.

When did you starting having this issue? You say you replaced the switch? Are you referring to the decel switch?

This happens when the switch is too close to the marker in the encoder. You can move the switch or do a gridshift. This may not be your problem though. You also may have a bad encoder and the machine is not seeing the marker when trying to reference. If you have a scope you can put it on the encoder to see if your marker is there. You may also not be backed off of the marker 1 full motor rev before referencing.

The intermittent issues are the biggest PITA to find. Depending on how your machine is equipped the above is just a hand full of things that could be causing your problem.

Thanks lot for the help. Turned out to be a broken wire that was causing an intermittent fault.

    Bry,
I am glad that you got it fixed. What broken wire was it?
