    Default bur on the first thread 2in -12 un

    i have a bur on the first thread of a 2in. -12 thread using a 2 line g76 threading cycle any suggestions on how to get rid of this?

    Chamfer the bar (say, up to minor diameter, at 45 degree angle) before thread cutting.

    I assume you programmed a chamfer before threading?
    Try to make it a liitle larger.
    Try programming a single finish pass after the G76, using G32 for an extra finish pass.
    At worst, deburr by hand.

    All very good ideas here. Can I assume that you are running a re-turn and re-thread in your program? it is SOP as far as I am concerned. But I do aerospace work.

    thanks , tried extra finish pass but still somthing there so i brought boring bar in and re cut the champer from inside out. worked fine also finish faced and fin. turned after so it broke the bur on the face . smooth as a babies b...

    If you just increase the chamfer amount, it should solve the problem.
    Did you try this?
