    ifihadarubbertree,
    for SB4/SB6, offsets 0x31e and 0x340 are used, as you said. ASCII character values are encoded by using XOR encoding ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_XOR_cipher ) and key 0x8c, 0x82, 0x9c, 0xaa, 0x86, 0xa0, 0x9a, 0x86 (i-th password's character is encoded by using i-th key's value).

    Sculptor,

Thanks, I am going to use this as an idea for my first .net app. I haven't programmed in over 6 years and need to get back into it. Thanks for posting your source and your comments, they really help. This should be a good challenge and learning experience for me :).

    Thanks again,

Suppose you have a memory card format file, say PMC.200 in folder C:\backup\emag\vl5\100459\ and that the GetPass utility is in folder C:\utils\ .
First you need to open a command line prompt: Start -> Run: cmd
A command line window will pop out.
Then you browse to the getpass utility by typing: CD c:\utils
If you want to examine folder content, use command: DIR.
Then you start getpass and pass path to memory card format file: GETPASS c:\backup\emag\vl5\100459\pmc.200
Program will output results and quit.
You can close command line window by typing: EXIT

Please send me memory card format files that cannot be unlocked by current version of GetPass.
    @ sculptor
pls. sent me your e-mail address( namnp2007(at)gmail.com) if you can remove the passworld from Oi memory card formate files. I"ll sent you the files.

I made a HTML5 version of the password finder application that can run on many operative systems, including Windows, Linux, OS X, Android, etc.
It's a static webpage, with .html extension. You can download it from here: http://bit.ly/18yS1gL everytime you need it, or you can save it to your system and use it locally. The application performs all operations on the client side - without using any server support.
Current version of the application is V1.0. New versions of the application, with fixed bugs and added features will be available via the same download link in the future. Hence, I recommend you to bookmark the download link, and check it occasionally.
The application runs inside a web browser. If the browser does not support the necessary API, the application will fail to work. JavaScript also needs to be enabled.
I tested the application on my desktop, and it worked with IE10, Chrome 27.x and Firefox 20.x.
I also tested the application on my Android tablet and cell phone. It worked with Chrome 27.x and Firefox 22.x.
Note to Android users: When browsing for a file, if offered, select Pick up file as: Normal Android Way.
Android users with installed Dropbox app will also be able to select memory card format files from their Dropbox accounts.
    I'd appreciate any feedback.
Also, I'd appreciate if you can send me your memory card format files, because I need more material to be able to add new features.

Update: V1.1 Added supported PMC types

This is a command line program. Usage:
    GETPASS [memory card format file]
The program reads memory card format file and outputs display & edit permission and display permission passwords. If no password is set, gibberish will be displayed.
    It should work for 16i/18i/...
Please test it and post your replies. Source code requests accepted via email.
    Have fun!

dh08td, i strongly suggest you to use HTML version that you can find here http://bit.ly/FanucGetPass.
It will run in your HTML5 capable browser on any OS.

It will not only show you passwords; it will show you compatible PMC types, and searchable symbol table.

    Thank you,

    niktesla

You can find them from SRAM backup.
This example demonstrates how you can find values for parameters 3210, 3211, 3220, 3221, 3222 and 3223.
Parameters 3220..3223 are better than parameters 3210..3211, because you can lock a range of programs defined by parameters 3222 and 3223
    not only programs above O8000.
