Default Star ECAS threading problem

Currently trying to produce a double lead thread on a Star ECAS 32mm Swiss. Running the same part on an SR20 with no problems.

Getting the error message: (Channel 3 Block N456 Max velocity of thread axis / Position / S1/SP1 has been reached. )
Current thread pitch is .080" ( .040 but double lead) RPM started at 1000, down to 350.
Varied the Z start points to provide more acceleration distance, did not help.
Manual states that 10000mm per minute is maximum velocity. By my calculations, we are nowhere close to that.

Looking for possible parameter error? No manuals for parameters.........
Have message in to Star now.
Any help out there?

All of the manuals for the parameters and alarms are in the control. It's been a while since I worked on an ECAS so I can't rember how to direct you to get to them. They are on the siemens side of the controls though. You should be able to find an answer to the alarm when you actually get the alarm. You can go to the Siemens side and there is a section that has help for the alarm.
I take it you are threading from ch3. Robert Hirzel in the California office can probably be the best help to you. Office #714-694-1255 until 5pm M-F. If he isn't there I can get you his mobile #.
Good luck

Thanks,
I will pursue the "help" feature in the control. Not familiar with this particular machine, I am actually the manager. But I do know the code, and have plenty of experience digging around in controls.

I appreciate the contact info for the California tech, may need it.

You can also try talking to Gunther in NY. Thats there headquarters here in the states. The # is 516 484-0500 they are more then happy to help out. If Gunther is not in see if Nigel Mays is available. They will figure it out.

Thanks for the info. I have forwarded the problem to Guenter. He responded . They are having to forward to Japan for some help in resolving the problem.

As I stated before, we are running virtually the same code on an SR20II with no problems. The difference is the controls, The ECAS carries a Siemens.
