Replacing the coolant coupler

Is there any thing that I need to do before replacing a coolant coupler/rotary union on a Okk hm100s.

Its been awhile and not sure I have the right picture in my head. I don't think there is anything special. Just make sure when you try to get it apart it may have reverse threads on one side, so don't over do it one way.

Also I faintly remember something about checking the gap and make sure the slide rods fall in the center holes of the washers. Hope this helps and I am not way off base for this.

The coupler will have reverse thread, also attach the hose prior to mounting the coupler or you may damage the bearing/sealing surface
