halkias,
FYI I moved your thread to this section of the forum "Machine Repair & Troublshooting". You had posted it in the "Introduce Yourself" section of the forum. More people will see your question in this section as it is best related to the category.

Sorry I can not offer any help on your problem as I am not up on the Sinumerik.

Stevo

Thank you Stevo.

Halkias,

Look into your backup folder, you should have another file named PCP which is your plc program. It could also be named XXXXX.S5D if it was saved using Siemens Simatic S5 software.

It always help us a lot if you specify the machine brand, type, model, size, color, etc.

Halkias,

I am afraid Sinumerik is not a machine but a cnc controller brand instead. The M after the number 810 usually means MILL, but I have seen this same M controller on other type of process, induction heating for instance:

...anyway, what is the UMS memory? Perhaps I know it but with another name, what is your native language? In what country are you? Sometimes Siemens components and/or software functions have different abreviations according to the selected language/country.

Most of the times you basically need files TEA1, TEA2 and PCP to restore an 810. You can write here a list with all the backup files that you have if you want to, so that I can tell you what each one is for.

I hope You must be using PCIN software for down loading back-up, stepwise procedure is
A. TEA1
B. TEA2
C. PCP
D. PCA
E. PP
F. SD
If PCP is in EPROM than we need not down load it ( it is very well defined in TEA2 BY MTB

IF it is not working pls post the alarm message

I upload from the memory the NC and PLC standard parameters, but the PLC program was erased. I modify some paramters to gain control from the external panel. Then I used the PCIN to download TEA1 and TEA2 and PCP. Obiously the PCP was empty. After that I wrote an small program using Simatic S5 and tarnsfer to Sinumerik. A this time we can move the axis in manual mode but I cant read the encoder. It looks like I need change another parameter.
