Default puma 240 turret

I am trying to remove the center hub of the turret on my puma 240 lathe i have removed the six 5mm bolts but i cant seem to pull it out. What am i doing wrong?

Hi Bob,

You should have a schematic drawing in the Parts Manual. Referring to the drawing of the assembly that includes the hub will reveal if there is anything else holding this part. If this hub locates in a bore, quite often it will resist initial effort to move it. Often, there will be drilled and tapped holes in components such as your focus part, plugged with grub screws to exclude dirt. These tapped holes are provided to be used with a slide hammer, or to allow bolts to be used as jacks, to facilitate removal of the component.

Before much pressure is applied to the part to be removed, with either jacking bolts or slide hammer, be very clear that no other component is restricting its removal. Make sure that pressure via the jacking bolts or slide hammer is applied evenly around the part.
