Angry Johnford Spindle Belt Change

We have a Johnford SV-45 Sn VN 7008. (circa 1997) Last week the drive belt broke. It seems pretty straight forward to replace. Appear to be take off the draw bar mechanism, Unbolt the spindle and lower it a bout 6" and slip the belt in. Nothing ever is as easy at is seems. Am I missing something. Are there any proximity switches I need to be aware of?

You do have one prox switch that you need to be aware of and that is for the spindle orientation. You can skip the step about dropping the spindle 6" if you are patient. Look at the underside to the back of the spindle and remove the access panel. This will allow you to manipulate the belt as you feed it in from the top after you have removed the knock out cylinder and the top support bearing. It takes twisting the belt a little and a few cuss words to acomplish this, but it can be done. I have changed quit a few of them on the SV-45.

Well. I finally got the spindle belt on. I tried to put the drawbar cylinder right back where it was but it won't work. Does't seem to have enough force to push the draw bar down. Everything was working fine b4 I changed the belt. The cylinder retract has two ports with a check valve, not sure what the second port is since it is below the cylinder. Its not the blow off since that is a third smaller line at the end of the cylinder. Cylinder ASSY made by Chen Sound Industrial. Bench testing it , it moves about 1/2", also tryed it on the machine by passing the valve. Doesn't seem to have enough force to push the bellevilles.
