We use BLASER coolant in 90% of our machines(mill/lathes) Cutting many different materials s-7,420ss,h13,BeCu cooper etc. Had issues w/ odors from excess oils from ways, etc. and had to add good skimmers (this aided alot in keeping any odors down). Keeping coolant concentrate level is critical in any coolant mix. We also found that adding approx 1 cup Dawn dish detergent to the machines eliminated almost all odor if the machines set...hmmm... go figure. We found that at some point someone added bleach to the coolant, this created alot of oxidation problems both on the parts and on the machine components. Would recommend not adding any bleach type products. |

I understand not to add the bleach ![]() The dawn is throwing for a loop. Dawn cuts grease , I wouldn't myself put it in a cnc machine. But I understand the soap part. But did read about soap in machinist bible years ago. we would use a ivory soap bar and tap plastic parts using tapping head in manual mill. |
