Default Fanuc 31i Won't Pallet Change in Auto

We have a Toyoda FH630 with 31i control. My problem is the M90 code- pallet change. I can get the machine to pallet change in MDI, but when the control reads M90 in Auto cycle, I get an alarm: DS1128 (DI.EILL OUT OF RANGE) meaning: The numerical value input by external data input signals EIDO to EID31 has exceeded the permissible range.
Any tips or suggestions I could try??? Thanks.
