Default operator message 2041 please set D304.5

every thing got emptied on my Amera Seiki lathe tc2L iwth a Fanuc OTC control
Luckily I had down loaded the parameter list from the machine when it was working.
I just spent a couple days entering it all.
Now I get a operator message 2041 please set D304.5
I don't know what this means its not in my books nor can I find it on the net?

Now it starts, I can open close chuck, move all axes in manual mode, move tail stock in out.
but I can not index turret, zero return, or turn spindle on.
does anyone have any ideas
Thanks Clint

Have you got a backup of your diagnostic parameters , you need to load them as well.

I was just about to say uh oh but might be saved.
I have been going through the hand written ones I had the builder send me. I noticed 300 to 490 have (DGN NO ) at the top of the page.
The only page marked that way.
Wold this be the diagnostics and are they put in on the Diagnostic screen or in the parameterr screen?
Thanks
Clint

This will be in the PMC side I believe under the “data” settings. You should find D304.5 which probably should mean data setting 304 bit 5 but this is going to be more MTB specific and I am only speculating at this time.

Deon is correct this is probably your PMC parameters not be set properly.

The parameter manual won’t help much with the diag and PMC parameters but I do have it. Send me a PM with your email address and I will send it to you. I don’t know if I can email it as it is just above 10mb zipped. PMC data and meanings will have more information in the MTB manual then in a Fanuc manual.

Thanks Stevo

I think I made some improvement.
I did finally get the original start up params faxed to me from Amera Seiki they are not exactly the same. The closest I got is by using my back up and using the diagnostics from the original faxed to me. I then can zero both axis, rotate the turret. open close the chuck except turn on the spindle. I now get ( 2029 spindle run lock ) and an 03 ERR with amber light on the main servo drive amplifier. Fanuc said see builder it is a param issue.
I am trying to see if they will get me a ladder diagram for this lathe the one that came with this lathe is not the one for this lathe.
Still pluggin along

Hello,
Did you enter the PMC parameters? To see these "parameters" you must push the parameter key twice. You will see "diagnostics" on top of the screen. The parameters you must enter are from 300 until 500. You must be in MDI mode and probably you will have to turn the edit key (to upload programs) to enter these parameters.
The operator message is telling you that bit 5 of parameter 304 (Diagnostics screen) must be a one. DGN 304= 00100000.
You should have a list of these pmc parameters.
Regards
Alex

Thank you for all of your help I finally got her working now.
after getting all the correct info for my serial number the book that came with this machine must have been off of some other machine.
there is a new guy in parts at Amera Seiki that finally sent me all the documentation for my serial number and he actually is proactive in helping trouble shoot dig up info etc.
Thanks again to all of you guys that helped you to Stevo.
