Default mastercam software Need a copy to learn it.

I am currently looking for a new job and have found that
a common criteria is knowledge of mastercam.
Is there any way to aquire a version of it to use for learning purposes only?

I haven't seen copies of Mastercam X (haven't been looking though), but when I took my Mastercam 9.1 course in college, our text book came with a demo, and then there are some books on Amazon that also come with a demo.

The only drawbacks to the demo(going from memory since I'm on a full version now):

Limited toolpath generation-will run all toolpaths in the backplot or verify, but I believe it limits the number of lines of code it will post, as well as only posting to two place accuracy.

Saving is NOT supported.

If I remember correctly that's all, but there may be more.

Try calling a Mastercam Retailer. I went to ours years ago and they gave me a Free Demo/Evaluation/Home Version.

They don't let you post, but most functions are available. It's been since X that I used it.

I don't know where you live, but in my neck of the woods we have the community college, and they teach Mastercam. A very good way to learn the software. Check your area for one...

There is the X5 HLE (home leaning edition) available from your local MC retailer.

I teach Mastercam X5 and Espirit 2011 at a local community college. If you have no experience with a cam package then do as others have suggested. Go to a school to learn all details in developing a G code program. An example is there is a majpr difference between Mastercam and Espirit to get the geometry entered and then developing the tooling and toolpaths. The end result is the same but you should really go to a school instead of hacking your way through a HLE.
Good luck!
