Default CNC Enhancements Autobar 400 Trouble?

CNC Enhancements, who made my Autobar 400 are now out of business. So I am looking for anyone with ideas on troubleshooting my problem below

My Auto Bar was working fine until an employee had crashed the machine. (Not the Autobar) It is running on a Mazak Multiplex 630 CNC Lathe with Dual Spindles and Dual C-Axis Milling and Drilling Capability.

My Problem:
The Autobar feeds the bar just fine if you start from the beginning with a new bar until you get to the end of the first bar. When the first bar is finish the Autobar does pickup the next bar and waits for the machine to complete the last piece, however the Autobar now totally ignores the "Minimum Grip" setting. I have programmed many different numbers into this setting however the bar continues to ignore the "Minimum Grip" setting therefore making the last piece partoff a total wreck. No matter what number I put into the "Minimum Grip" setting the Autobar ignores it and leaves the part unclamped during the final partoff. The Autobar is measuring the bar and counting parts correctly however this Minimum Grip setting is not correct.

In order to stop the machine from wrecking the last part I have to "Reset" the Lathe and Partoff the last piece totally manually. This manual operation interrupts the Autobar from completing the automatic loading of the new bar, thus I have to start all over with every bar.

The Autobar has worked flawlessly in the past and prior to this crash it worked just fine. My question is: "Is there a sensor or something else that may have been damaged that would cause this faulty operation?"

I have tried everything I can think of to resolve the issue however I am lost at this time.

Kind Regards

we have a couple of bar feeders here none like yours but their is a couple of sensors in the front and back of them if they crashed into the bar stock one or the other could possibly be damaged sounds like it could be the front sensor if your problems are at the end of bar.

Default Re: CNC Enhancements Autobar 400 Trouble?

CNC Enhancements maybe out of business, but I still support the machines and am still at the same phone number they had.

As to this problem. The Autobar 400 uses the Min Grip number to decide when there is not enough material to make another part. When the Autobar 400 sees that there is not enough material it sends a signal to the lathe that it is out of material and then pulls back and lifts up to pick up the next bar. Since the Autobar is pulling back and lifting up it is using the Min Grip, so I think the problem might be that when the signal is sent to the lathe it is causing the lathe to not close the collet like it should. The best place to start with this problem would be to fax a copy of the lathe program to me, so I can see what you are doing and then call me.
